[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

Probably from one of Ms. Uzuki's friends. They don't know the full story, so they don't really have the best image of us as a group.

In any case, you don't seem to have arrived in the usual manner -- whatever "the usual manner" actually is.

You've displayed at least one capability impossible for an ordinary human which... Personas don't enable.

And pepole who come here the...usual way are restricted to what ordinary humans can do?

*He vanishes, not just turning as invisible as is possible to the supernaturally perceptive prosecutor but outright ceasing to be where he is. At the exact same moment, or as near to it as the human mind can process, he appears sitting on the couch with his arms folded and elbows propped on his legs.*

As far as I can guess, there was a shift in spacetime that none of us had warning about. We were already in an anomaly designed to resemble time travel and touch on the Collective Unconscious, so I guess it's not inconceivable that it could have bumped an already open pocket universe or something.

[Edgeworth blinks reflexively at the short teleport... then blinks a few more times before shaking his head.]

At first, yes, with the arguable exception of our capability to perceive things that the natives cannot. However, kidnappees can subsequently awaken a summonable self-aspect -- the "Persona" I mentioned.

[That last part... well, the mention of a ""Collective Unconscious" sounds out of place with the rest of what the visitor said, so he tries not to look completely confused as he tries to make sense of its presence in the hypothesis.]

I'm sure Albedo had a field day with that name...

*He shakes his head and leans back away from his folded hands to look more directly at Edgeworth.*

Is that how you saw me walk in? I should have been invisible to even augmented humans.

I presume that's how I was able to perceive you, yes.

[temptestament]

So a good chunk of the people here will probably be able to see me, too...I guess that means there's really no point in staying invisible. And I'm stuck in the distant past with no idea why other than that maybe part of a spacetime anomaly slipped too far into Imaginary Space and dumped me out into another version of Real Space and apparently cut off from my own version of the universe until I get an idea of exactly what happened so I know how to reverse it. Great. Hopefully I'll be able to manage that before he has to take over for me.

An ally of ours that isn't actually a Testament. He knows the full story, though, and he could fill Ms. Uzuki in on what she needs to know if I'm not there in time...but I know him. He's a lousy, self-centered, manipulative jerk who'll probably try to make things sound as bad as possible to make her feel trapped about what to do next instead of leaving it ultimately her choice like it should be.

*As he describes this person, the tension in the room increases, as if his disgust is a tangible thing.*

(It sounds almost as though he's predicting an alternate version of the tale Allen told of that traumatic Dive... If I directly express such a thing, however, things may grow unnecessarily complicated.)

Given the rather primitive technology here compared to what you're used to, what do you propose that we do to ensure your return?

We? You don't really have to help...but if you wanted to, describing any other unique properties of this universe might help me figure out what happened, or at least give me ideas for how to leave.

Very well. The most significant aspect of this world is a twenty-fifth hour that the natives are incapable of perceiving or interacting with. It occurs precisely at midnight, and the landscape transforms in unsettling ways for its duration. On this island in particular, creatures called Shadows appear during this time as well.

[temptestament]

A twenty-fifth hour? And it seems like spacetime gets unstable then, or at least warps all on its own...maybe a push then could get me back where I belong. But I only have a few hours...what time is it now?

[truthsnomiracle]

[Checking...] It's quarter past five PM.

[temptestament]

Dammit...I can't let him be the one to tell her. Why couldn't this have happened yesterday if it had to happen?

Given that time travel is involved, is there any reason to assume that you can't return to precisely the moment you left if you so wished?

[temptestament]

*From the way his head tilts, it's obvious he hadn't thought of that. True, time was passing outside the spacetime anomaly-induced Dive, but that was only imitation time travel. And it didn't make sense to assume that a universe that didn't seem to have the failsafe or the guardian would be younger than one that had been regularly reset...*

That's a pretty good point...if I went directly from here to the equivalent time in my own universe, I'd probably be a few thousand years too early. If that's the case, then it wouldn't really matter how long I stay here, as long as I do get out.

Given that our understanding of the situation here is still incomplete and does involve people claiming to have lost unusual abilities, however, I wouldn't recommend staying for longer than is necessary -- there's no guarantee that whatever force is responsible for our situation won't take notice of you in time.

[temptestament]

I'll spend some time during this extra hour testing how it changes things before I jump into trying to leave. If I can afford to risk missing my first chance, I don't see why I should rush it and risk getting in an even bigger mess.

In the meantime, is there anything I could help you with to pay you back for telling me what I needed to know?

Well...I don't know much about the situation here, but dealing with information is kind of a specialty of mine. Maybe if you explain the gaps in what you understand, I could help find out what you need to know, or at least offer my own theories.
