[open RP meme] The "pester Edgeworth in his office" post, Dreamwidth edition

[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

[Was your life lacking in excitement, Edgeworth? I hope so, because you're sure as hell gonna get it, along with probably a pretty high cleaning bill.

Why? Because some punk teenager has just rushed into your office, turned around, and slammed the door shut, all somehow without noticing you. While this would normally be kind of stupid, a pass can probably be given from the fact that the kid is currently bleeding profusely all over your door and floor.

Yeah.]

Shit, shit... shit!

What the hell?!

[Edgeworth nearly falls out of his chair at this sudden wounded new arrival. It takes him a couple of seconds for him to regain his balance enough to stand.]

[The voice, however, registers, and Akira whirls as best he can while woozy from blood-loss.

.....oh fuck.]

Who the hell are you?!

Miles Edgeworth, public prosecutor. This is my office. While I can't begin to guess why you would be on the twelfth floor of a half-deserted Prosecutor's Office, I presume there are more important matters at hand.

[Twelfth floor? Oh wow, he really did fly up those stairs, he would've guessed maybe sixth.]

Crusaders. Assholes jumped me.

[He feels he owes you at least somewhat of an explanation seeing as he's bleeding all over your nice clean floor, but he sort of sinks down with his back against the door.]

Shit... can barely think.

[Well, considering he's losing enough blood to probably put a full grown man down...]

[Crusaders? Was that the name of some kind of gang? Whatever the case, it didn't ring any bells, and there was obviously a more immediate problem here.

Edgeworth pulls off his blazer and fishes a scrap of cloth out of one of the inside pockets, then briskly makes his way over to the boy and examines his wounds quickly. Forneus couldn't heal wounds, unfortunately, but the prosecutor himself wasn't unfamiliar with anatomy.]

[Akira kicks against the door a bit in reflex when Edgeworth comes over, but he's a bit too tired and dizzy to do more than that.

The wounds themselves look bad, beyond so, and it's a wonder he even got all the way up here without passing out. The most amazing thing by far, however, is the fact that despite the severity, the blood flow is already slowed down quite a bit, even just from a minute ago. It really should be bleeding worse than it is, and yet...]

The hell're you doin'?

[Said as if he is genuinely confused that Edgeworth might want to stop the bleeding.]

[Your office certainly looks normal today, doesn't it, Edgeworth?

Or at least it did. You look away for one second and suddenly there is a literal ninja just there, standing on the top of your couch and pawing through what appears to be a case file fairly curiously.]

(If he'd lost enough blood for him to be unable to bleed further, he would already be unconscious. It's almost as though some unseen Persona healed him...)

My intent was to dress your wounds as best I'm able, and yet they appear to be sealing internally of their own accord.

[The ninja's appearance is so unobtrusive, in fact, that at first glance his presence doesn't completely register -- though it only takes a second for it to do so and prompt a double-take from the prosecutor. He nearly chokes on the sip of tea he was in the middle of swallowing.]

Well, 'course they are. I heal quick.

[That... doesn't explain anything, really.]

[He catches the choking, glancing over slightly. It's hard to tell with the mask, but he might be smiling?]

Ah, are you done, Edgeworth-san?

[Once Edgeworth finishes coughing and trying very hard not to spit-take, he begins glaring at the newcomer.]

Wh-who are you and what are you doing in my office?! Stop standing on my couch this instant!

Certainly.

[He replaces the case file, hopping down to the floor with barely a sound.]

My name is Oboro-maru. I came here because I was told you are a man who values truth.

OBJECTION!

Most people who claim such a thing heal in days, not seconds! Clearly something is amiss here. Who are you?

[Mollified, the prosecutor manages to regather his composure.]

Yes, although I'm rarely consulted directly for such a reason.

[And now he's looking at Edgeworth with something of a what the fuck? expression. His face has more color than it should for losing so much blood now as well.]

Yeah, well, I ain't most people.

[He thinks about being snarky to the question, but, well, Edgeworth answered his and even if Akira doesn't trust him yet, he'll play along, if just to bide his time.]

Akira Tadokoro.

[He makes his way over to the desk. The pitch of his voice combined with his height, now that it's accurately seen since he's not hunching, suggests this individual might be fairly young -- perhaps teenage?]

Perhaps, but this is a matter I must speak with you directly on. It is quite an unbelievable situation.

Miles Edgeworth.

(I can't say that sullying my office is the best way to introduce yourself, but if someone managed to injure you so gravely despite such a powerful capability, clearly I have no choice but to forgive you.)

Wait here. I'll find one of the janitors, and then we can discuss your circumstances.

Then I assume that you've brought evidence of a similar magnitude.

[Akira doesn't reply to the order -- the regeneration's progressed far enough that he can think clearly again, which means the first thing on his usual list is now getting done.

His eyes fade out completely, the whites glowing a bright greenish color as he fixes Edgeworth with a stare that's not so much on him as it is through him.

Let's see just what you're thinking, buddy... and just how your mind is set up.]

Indeed.

[He places another case file -- where did he pull that from? -- on the desk, tilting his head curiously.]

I believe I managed to at least somewhat accurately put together the information I gathered in the way you are used to. I am afraid I am not familiar with how you organize your notes.

Wh-what...?!

[The glowing eyes were mildly surprising, but the vague feeling of... intrusion?... was much more unsettling. Akira gets a glimpse of ponderings of what could possibly have harmed a boy with such power so thoroughly and where those responsible could be now, why he was attacked in the first place, how disturbing this unfamiliar intrusive feeling is, and how much of a pain it's going to be to have blood cleaned off of the floor of his office again, all unfolding in a rather orderly and sprawling mind, before a blue devilfish suddenly cuts in.

Wait, what?]

(Hey! This is our head, kid! Beat it!)

[The devilfish thing is very much unexpected and Akira recoils in surprise, both physically and mentally -- his eyes fade back to normal and he looks very much unsettled.]

What the hell was THAT?!

[...Well then. That was strange, but at least a vaguely pleasant surprise. Edgeworth takes the ersatz casefile with a nod.]

It would seem that you've planned this for some time.

[Flipping to the case summary now...]
