[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

[Kay greets him with a small smile as she steps inside with her load.]

You know, I wasn't kidding about the soup.

[With the files under one arm, she brings out a brand new organizer from the paper bag, almost the same color as the one that had been ruined, still wrapped in plastic.]

Or the organizer.

[Edgeworth responds quietly and hoarsely:]

Not did I doubt those claims. ...Thank you.

[yatagarasu]

You're welcome. [Her smile gets wider.] But I couldn't raise enough money to replace that suit...and your phone.

[Edgeworth takes the organizer, though doesn't unwrap it.]

Of course not; minors typically can't freely access hundreds of dollars.

[yatagarasu]

Still, when I came to see Gummy after the police asked me about what happened, he said you deserve a big reward for saving my life.

[truthsnomiracle]

I suppose he would. (Certainly that would result in a far more positive salary evaluation for him.)

[yatagarasu]

You could always tell whoever will be giving you the reward that you'd rather have a new suit and a new cellphone instead of money.

[truthsnomiracle]

If I were to receive money for my efforts, I could use it for those purchases. ACHOO!

[And now going to fetch a box of tissues, because he's going through way too much mucus for handkerchiefs.]

[Wow. Kay can't remember the last time she saw him like this.

Maybe because this might be her first time seeing him in absolutely no condition to do any prosecutor work.]

...maybe I should start making some tea. And the soup.

[Kay knows how to make tea? Whoa, whoa, wait a sec...]

[truthsnomiracle]

[After several seconds of blowing his nose and throwing the tissues used in the wastebasket:]

Do you even know the finer points of tea-brewing?

[Anyone could just throw tea leaves and hot water together, after all.]

[yatagarasu]

Finer points? Well, teabags are pretty straightforward, but if we're doing it with leaves...

...

[That's not a very good sign.]

[truthsnomiracle]

*cough, cough* Perhaps I should brew my own tea while you concentrate on the soup. *sniff*

[yatagarasu]

Are you sure you can handle it?

[truthsnomiracle]

(Most assuredly better than you could.) It's brewing tea, not disarming a bomb. A sneeze will hardly -- ACHOO! -- result in any disasters.

[Just going to fill the kettle now.]

[yatagarasu]

It'll mean the difference between me being able to have some tea or not. You better not sneeze on the leaves! Or anything!

[truthsnomiracle]

Of course not. What are your preferences?

[Setting it to boil...]

[yatagarasu]

You wouldn't happen to have any honey, would you?

And - oh yeah, I need to get started on the chicken soup, right?

[truthsnomiracle]

As a matter of fact, I do. As for the soup, you can begin that while I wash my face and hands.

[yatagarasu]

Sure! You can count on me!

[Edgeworth, are you seriously leaving your assistant alone in the kitchen...to cook...?]

[truthsnomiracle]

[Only for two minutes, with a specific task to focus on. How much trouble could she possibly get into?...]

I'll be back shortly.

[And now for a quick trip to the bathroom. A sneeze is audible once he's halfway there.]

[yatagarasu]

[And Kay promptly starts cooking. She instantly finds the ingredients (and she actually had some in that bag of hers), chops up vegetables, all that jazz.

All while humming the Jammin' Ninja theme song. Then she switches to the Steel Samurai theme song.]

[truthsnomiracle]

[Meanwhile, Edgeworth makes haste in cleaning himself, missing the Jammin' Ninja humming but returning in time to briefly quirk a half-smile at the Steel Samurai theme behind Kay's back. He takes out cups and saucers, then honey and lemon. After turning away for a moment to cough into his handkerchief:]

Did you want any particular kind of tea?

[yatagarasu]

[Kay stops humming and chopping and glances at him before getting ready to do some serious Yatagarasu-style...

...boiling.]

Depends. What do you have?

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth takes out some white tea for once, then opens the relevant cupboard fully and steps back.]

Were I to elaborate verbally, I'd probably further damage my throat.

[...He's not kidding.]

[yatagarasu]

[She...stares at the cupboard. Holy crow, that's a lot of tea in any one place that isn't a store.]

...G-Green tea's fine.
