[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

You wouldn't happen to have any honey, would you?

And - oh yeah, I need to get started on the chicken soup, right?

As a matter of fact, I do. As for the soup, you can begin that while I wash my face and hands.

Sure! You can count on me!

[Edgeworth, are you seriously leaving your assistant alone in the kitchen...to cook...?]

[truthsnomiracle]

[Only for two minutes, with a specific task to focus on. How much trouble could she possibly get into?...]

I'll be back shortly.

[And now for a quick trip to the bathroom. A sneeze is audible once he's halfway there.]

[yatagarasu]

[And Kay promptly starts cooking. She instantly finds the ingredients (and she actually had some in that bag of hers), chops up vegetables, all that jazz.

All while humming the Jammin' Ninja theme song. Then she switches to the Steel Samurai theme song.]

[Meanwhile, Edgeworth makes haste in cleaning himself, missing the Jammin' Ninja humming but returning in time to briefly quirk a half-smile at the Steel Samurai theme behind Kay's back. He takes out cups and saucers, then honey and lemon. After turning away for a moment to cough into his handkerchief:]

Did you want any particular kind of tea?

[yatagarasu]

[Kay stops humming and chopping and glances at him before getting ready to do some serious Yatagarasu-style...

...boiling.]

Depends. What do you have?

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth takes out some white tea for once, then opens the relevant cupboard fully and steps back.]

Were I to elaborate verbally, I'd probably further damage my throat.

[...He's not kidding.]

[yatagarasu]

[She...stares at the cupboard. Holy crow, that's a lot of tea in any one place that isn't a store.]

...G-Green tea's fine.

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth holds back a sneeze long enough to turn away and pull out his handkerchief to absorb it.]

ACHOO! ...Do you have any preferences concerning the strength?

[yatagarasu]

Strength? Um...normal?

[What does Kay know about tea...she'll just go back to preparing all the stuff that'll go into the chicken soup.]

You think I should add noodles?

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth sighs in frustration with a shake of his head, then sets the handkerchief aside, rinses his hands, then takes out a tin of plain green tea and scoops a moderate amount of it into one of the mugs. Noting that the water has hit roughly the right point for green tea by now, he pours water from the kettle into that mug, then sets it back on the heat to get it slightly hotter for his own.]

Ideally they ought to have been added prior to the vegetables, but yes.

[He scoops more white tea into his own mug than he did green into Kay's, then reaches for the egg timer sitting nearby.]

I haven't added anything yet. I even found twisty noodles!

[Kay...had a bag of those, apparently. She shows them off before moving to cook them, this time humming the Pink Princess theme.]

Heh, my bad there.

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth sighs and frowns.] (Perhaps I ought to nap after finishing my own tea, if my observational skills are suffering to this degree.)

More properly called rotini. Those should suffice.

It's okay, I was being pretty vague.

[yatagarasu]

[Kay seems to be enjoying herself at the stove, still humming and then even dancing a little.]

A Great Thief is always prepared!

Apparently so.

[Edgeworth, meanwhile, is as solemn about his tea-making as he can muster in his condition. After grabbing his handkerchief again briefly to cough into it, he pours water into his own tea and sets the egg timer for it.]

I couldn't find any Steel Samurai noodles, though. I wonder how those'd look like...spears and masks and topknots...

[She isn't even looking at him, but focusing on her masterpiece. I mean, soup.]

[truthsnomiracle]

(Then you weren't looking in the right place. Though I can't say that the idea of having to find some use for the low-grade powdered cheese sauce that would come in the same package is appealing...)

[Edgeworth heads out of the room to go through several tissues again while the tea is steeping.]

[yatagarasu]

[Excuse you, Edgeworth. Kay didn't have a lot of time on her hands to search the grocery stores.

She hears his footsteps, but doesn't turn to look at him. Instead, she keeps cooking until the kitchen is full of the lovely aroma of Great Thief-style chicken soup.]

[truthsnomiracle]

[A shame that even after he's finished blowing his nose and returns, he can't really smell it. Edgeworth soon busies himself with setting bowls and spoons on the island in the middle of the kitchen, pausing frequently to turn away to cough or sneeze. He then fetches a box of tissues that he sets on the side of the island he's apparently claiming as his.]

It should be ready...in a couple of minutes.

[Kay continues stirring.]

I bet you never thought a Great Thief like me could cook too!

[truthsnomiracle]

It merely goes to show that you haven't neglected necessary skills in the process.

[Edgeworth suddenly rushes his handkerchief to his mouth as a coughing fit comes on.]

[yatagarasu]

[She frowns in worry when she glances at him coughing.]

Of course it's necessary! Maybe I could cook up something that'll make people confess their secrets!

[...wat.]

Kay, it's highly unlikely that mere food would act as an effective bribe -- except perhaps in Detective Gumshoe's case, and he hardly needs to be bribed for him to leak like a sieve.
