[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

[Edgeworth heads to the sink to wash his hands after that much nose-blowing.]

You were fortunate in that respect, but I did have reason to be concerned that things might have been worse than they appeared.

[All that being done, the prosecutor dries his hands and works to stir a few drops of lemon into his white tea and some honey into Kay's green tea -- with separate teaspoons, of course.]

[After having some more of her soup (which, honestly, really turned out better than she expected), Kay watches him work on the tea.]

...it could've been worse if you never found me.

[Edgeworth holds back a shudder as best he can.]

I-I don't wish to discuss what might have been!

[He swiftly turns with Kay's tea in hand to set the cup and saucer down -- perhaps slightly too loudly -- in front of her before returning for his own tea.]

[Wow, okay, Kay will focus on her teacup first and try to steer this conversation toward something less morbid.]

O-on the bright side, you could probably be a lifeguard on your days off.

I'd rather not.

[Edgeworth seats himself again, sets his tea down, and coughs into his handkerchief again.]

C'mon, you'd be good at it.

[truthsnomiracle]

Once was more than enough.

[Edgeworth takes a sip of his tea.]

You could always be a lifeguard somewhere else. Y'know...someplace safer.

[Kay does the same - then quickly sets her cup down. Whoops, too hot.]

My talents are far better suited to prosecution, and going out of my way to potentially repeat an unsettling experience is hardly my idea of a relaxing day off.

[Going to concentrate on eating soup now... while sniffling.]

But who says you can't have other talents that are suited for something else?
