[open RP meme] The "pester Edgeworth in his office" post, Dreamwidth edition
[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

I see... But yes, I do remember. I might have thought the entire experience to be nothing more than an elaborate delusion if not for the continued presence of these.
[Edgeworth holds his arm out and points to the silver seal of Forneus cufflink on that sleeve with his other hand.]

But that's the other thing...I should have forgotten. Do not misunderstand me, I am incredibly thankful both of us remember things clearly. But the fact that I am still alive with my abilities intact breaks so many rules of the established Servant summoning system that I can not even begin to count them.

[strap yourselves in, folks.]
You know already that I am a hero of mythological times. In order to participate in the conflict known as the Holy Grail War, magi summon people like me into one of seven Servant classes. For example, Kayneth summoned me into the class of Lancer.
Without a contract to a Master, a Servant can not draw the magical energy from them needed to maintain a form like this one. I am definitely dead and definitely a spirit, but as you can see I'm here and quite tangible. Hence the sudden appearance; I've actually been standing here for some time, in spirit form. My first problem arises here--as far as I can tell, I am bound to no Master yet exist as though I were.
[Still with us? Good, there's more.]
As for the part pertaining to my memory... In order to preserve a heroic spirit such as myself as the hero they were in life, if they are to die or disappear then they forget all that had transpired since their summoning. Were it not for Prospero's influence, I would have died and eventually been summoned again into a new war under a new Master. I would not remember Kayneth, Kiritsugu, you, or even Arturia. As you can see, that is not the case despite the return of my Servant body and abilities.
In short, the most basic facts of a summoned Servant and their contract have essentially been tossed out the nearest window.

Given that your memories are intact, one can only assume that there has been no break in the continuity of your current existence. The question lies in how that continuation is possible. Were this a world heavy with magic, I would think it to make sense, yet it's highly unlikely that this is the case given the rarity of the supernatural here.
...What of your Persona?

...Nothing. Though I think a spirit summoning a spirit would be well beyond redundant, so I am not surprised.

Insert the weirdness "pling" at the dark red text, of course. ;)

...then again, that still leaves a few slightly more immediate problems at hand.

You deserve nothing less, Diarmuid.

[shut up you are getting a hug]
It is truly wonderful to see you here. No matter how confusing the situation, I am honestly happy to have this chance.

[Because he's not comfortable with this touching stuff, for starters... it's a good thing it's you, Diarmuid.]

Hm? Oh, sorry. [He let go, smiling slightly.]

Now, then, where did you first arrive? Perhaps we could find something of use there.

Fortunately, I have very little work remaining today. There has been relatively little violent crime in the city as of late; my work today has only involved the paperwork that comes of a case's aftermath.

...Actually, this will be my first time in a completely normal human city. I admit I'm a little interested.
