[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]

[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread and specify Canonworth, TVKworth, or any other preference! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

[Though it's a slow, wobbly struggle, this Edgeworth rises to his feet.]

I merely need time, and perhaps some more tea.

I, uhm-... [He looks around, seeing an electric kettle and the box containing the tea leaves from the earlier day's preparations. He picks up the kettle only to find that there was only a trace amount of water left.]


...I'll be back.


[He takes the empty teacup, steps out, and within minutes, returns with water and a damp cloth. He fills the kettle, turns it on, and proceeds to hesitantly offer the damn cloth to his 'other'.]

[By this time, the Persona-using Edgeworth is seated on the couch and seems to have caught his breath and wiped away his sweat somehow, probably via handkerchief. He eyes the damp cloth for a moment.]

It's a headache, not a fever.

I wasn't certain. Could you blame me for not having the slightest clue what was going on?

If I were feeling too hot, would I have requested a beverage that would make me feel hotter still? Really, I'm surprised at you; have the particular stresses of Cair Paradisa been insufficient to keep your mind sharp?

[Oh, right. The tea.

With a flick of the wrist he withdraws the slightly-moistened cloth, a gesture unconsciously expressing his underlying frustration at being snarked at...by himself.]


I see no fault in offering a damp hand-towel to someone profusely sweating, whether or not they request a hot beverage.


[ ...This all was admittedly a lot to take in at once, and in his bit of confusion he had almost forgotten about the tea. He goes over to the stash of teas available on the shelf. Now he slightly acknowledges how Phoenix constantly feels around him.]

...Which would you like?

That aspect can be explained by the fact that I was under a great deal of strain, as should have been expected after my explanation of the difficulty of the task at this time of day.

The green tea with ginger, if you would.

[Based on the response, he observes the electric kettle so that he may stop it before it reaches the boiling point, as one would do for a green tea brew. He head teems with questions. In silence, he prepares the tea to his liking and brings it over, not knowing which to question to ask first.]


...Though I am afraid that the demonstration only leaves me with far more questions than before.

[The seated Edgeworth accepts the tea with a gracious nod, then begins to sip.]

Please explain the 'Shadows' you spoke of, earlier.

[The local Edgeworth places his cup on the saucer and holds it aside with one hand, then fishes a smartphone out from an inner pocket of his blazer and places it on his lap with another.]

They're apparently nonsapient creatures that exist only during the Dark Hour, and come in a variety of forms. Unfortunately, our understanding of their essential nature is limited. However, given that our more obviously sentient doppelgangers referred to themselves as Shadows as well, it's been proposed that they may have some connection to the suppressed aspects of the natives.

[As he speaks, he taps at the phone; once he finishes, he hands it over to his counterpart, open to Atsuro's Shadow database.]
