[no game, open RP] The "pester Edgeworth in his office" post
[Chances are, when you enter room 1202 of the Prosecutor's Office, you'll find High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth hard at work. He learned the hard way not to be too quick to throw people out when they interrupt him, so as annoyed as he probably will be once he notices your presence, you'll more likely than not get a sufficient chance to justify yourself. Usually.]
[To help clarify the purpose of this post, this is someplace anyone can come tag me if they want -- just start a thread! Canons, AUs, OCs, and canon OCs welcome, both AA and non-AA!]

Since no non-default journal styles, let alone any with one of those sidebars where you can click on specific threads, are well-suited for long threads, here's a nice manual index.

I am aware of some such difficulties, and have been attempting to unravel the truth behind them. If you can aid my progress in that regard, I would be grateful for such assistance.

It also has the disadvantage of, like so many niggling details of the case, seeming to defy the obvious facts.

As for the nature of my conflict of interest... I am the defendant.

Even if one were to assume that the defendant in this case were a master of disguise, Althea Tamochi is in custody.
Paradoxes are so tempting... :P
I don't expect to be able to prove this to you. Particularly not at this juncture. But under the circumstances, you need to know why it will be problematic for me to provide incriminating testimony.
Nevertheless, if I did not in truth know better, I would have to admit what I've seen seems pretty incriminating...
Edgey hates you so much right now. ;)

Again, this is not something I expect to prove to you, but when I say I am the defendant, it might perhaps be more correct to say I was the defendant.
1/2
(First it is ghosts and spirit mediums that I am expected to accept, and now time travel?!)
Still not done with the actual deskslam, but this face is right at least. 2/2, and done!
I have been shown incontrovertible proof of things nearly as strange before... whoever you might truly be. If you expect me to take you seriously, at least try to prove your claims, no matter how uncertain you might be of how you might go about doing so.

Let's see, what did I decide to keep from the local paper... The lowest lottery number from tomorrow night's drawing was a 7, tomorrow's front page story is about a political scandal in Zheng Fa... And I took down the horoscopes for the next 7 days; seemed harmless enough as such things go...
[ handed over.]
Incidentally, I don't trust numbers to not change; chaos and all that. I suspect the rest should be fine, though.
*makes note of at least one, possibly two icons to seek out*
...Yes, this is Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. I require confirmation that the defendant from the FT-7 case is still in custody. ...Althea Tamochi, yes.
[A couple of minutes pass in near-silence, Edgeworth's finger tapping impatiently on the back of his phone while he waits.]
...She is. Very well, officer, my apologies for the interruption. Good day. [With a *bip*, he ends the call and repockets the phone. He then returns his gaze to "Sibel" -- wary, but reluctantly willing to at least humor her.]
Consider yourself fortunate, "Ms. Miryzo." Whether it is a positive matter or not that you find such fortune today, however, remains to be seen.

He almost said "witness and perpetrator". Yeah, not so much trust as an open mind here...
Intro 1/5
But at this point, I've talked circles around the issue enough. Why don't we start picking apart the contradictions in this case?
Let's start with the lack of surveillance footage...
Testimony 2/5
no subject
That much I am aware of, ma'am. As might be expected, the first thing that I ordered further investigation into upon being informed of this was whether the cameras or their footage had in any way been tampered with.

Testimony 3/5

Indeed, the existence of footage that shows business as usual from the other cameras is proof enough of that. Given the... decided peculiarity of the lack of evidence, I made a point of having forensics verify that the day's footage was not spliced together from previous days'.

Testimony 4/5
/presses most suspicious point last as usual
Specifically, another camera's feed was being recorded redundantly instead of that camera's for the past day, was it not? A most suspicious fact.

Testimony 5/5

A simple ambush by one of the guards in particular, as I recall? Although I do find it peculiar that only she took that opportunity...
